Quick start

GiftPrint turns handwritten gift messages into beautiful, printable cards. Choose from 11 professionally designed templates, pick a page format, and generate a PDF ready to print and include in your order.

Installation

Print your first gift note

Once installed, GiftPrint adds a "Print Gift Note" action to the Shopify admin:

1. Go to Orders in Shopify admin
2. Open any order that contains a gift message
3. Click More actions → Print Gift Note (added by GiftPrint's admin extension)
4. Select a template and page format from the preview
5. (Optional) Click Edit to modify the message before download
6. Click Download PDF
7. Print and place in the box

Supported message sources: Giftship, Wrapin, Wrapped, GiftPrint widget, or custom Shopify order notes. See Integrations for details.

Print settings

Before your first print, customize default settings in Settings:

• Default template — which design new orders use by default
• Page format — A6 (standard), thermal 4×6", square 3×3", or 4-up A4
• Thermal / B&W mode — force black-and-white output for label printers (Zebra, Rollo, Dymo)
• Order ID footer — add order number to each card for warehouse matching

The template and page format can be switched for a single print on the order and batch screens. Thermal mode and the order ID footer apply shop-wide.

Dashboard

The GiftPrint dashboard shows:

• New tab — orders with unprinted gift messages, auto-detected from your orders
• Printed tab — orders where gift notes have been printed and applied

Use these tabs to stay organized and avoid reprinting.

Batch printing (Starter and Pro plans)

If you have multiple orders to print:

1. Go to the GiftPrint dashboard
2. Click Batch print or use Shopify's bulk actions
3. Select up to 20 orders (Starter). Pro has no plan limit, up to a technical ceiling of 500 orders per run
4. GiftPrint generates one PDF with all gift notes
5. Download and print in one batch

Storefront widget (optional, all plans)

Let customers write their gift note on the product page. Add the Gift Note block to your product pages in the Theme editor. The widget works on every plan, including FREE, where it is a plain message form. On Starter and Pro you can switch it to Picker mode, which adds the template grid and the live card preview.
